Arthur LeClerq

Arthur LeClerq

Arthur LeClerq was Gus McNaughton’s brother. He was a song writer and lyricist who wrote many popular variety songs including He Played his Ukelele as the Ship Went Down, Da Da Da Da – which was performed by Frank Benson in Tom Vernon’s Royal Follies – and Don’t Have any More Missus Moore made famous by Lily Morris.

The latter was written about his sister. He is not credited with its writing because he sold the rights to the song.
